The “Missing Middle” Design Guide has been released for public exhibition & comment.
It’s been a fantastic experience working on this project & it represents a fantastic opportunity to improve the design quality of this significant area of housing.
It’s about encouraging best practice & providing opportunities for new design solutions combined with a series of simple minimum standards that are about creating delightful and functional spaces.
The draft takes a cautious approach and suggests it will only apply if Councils adopt it but hope that in the long term it will apply to all DA’s for medium density with a SEPP 65 style state wide application.
