coronation centre - prince alfred park

The Coronation Centre is a small community centre located in Prince Alfred Park, Sydney, constructed between 1938-1940. The building is a listed heritage item due to its association with the coronation of King George V1 in 1937. It is a modest brick and tile structure with limited architectural detail.

The brief for the project was to retain the key elements of the heritage item, adapt it to contemporary needs, provide administrative facilities for the adjoining tennis courts and provide a new addition in the form a contemporary multipurpose space that would support a broad range of community and council needs.

Construction completed 2012.
