Affordable / Community Housing

The Potts Hill Community Housing development showcases two innovative typologies in affordable housing; the ‘manor house’ and the ‘fonzie flat’.

Designed to provide medium density, low cost housing in a residential setting the development sits well in its context, presenting to the street as a series of two storey traditional dwellings. The “manor house” design allows for the provision of 4 small homes, 2 x bedroom and 2 × 1 bedroom within one envelope whilst the ‘fonzie flat’ positions a studio dwelling above a garage for increased density without increased foot print, taking advantage of an underutilized portion of the site.

The development offers a great mix of affordable of choice for tenants, with the flat able to be occupied in conjunction with or separately to the manor house.

Developed under the previous government’s “NRAS” by Link Housing – a leading community housing provider – the development provides 32 units and was completed 2 and a half years ahead of schedule.

Opened by Minister for Social Housing, Brad Hazzard MP, June 2015.
